You will see older blog posts on this website, which come from our parent Glass Bone Media. But from this point onwards, this will be a place for writings and musings all about the intersection between girlhood and horror cinema as an auxiliary page for The Girl Horror Podcast.
In The Girl Horror Podcast we discuss films in detail, looking at their place in the history of feminist horror film as well as their ideas, themes, imagery, and impact on women today. In this section of the Girl Horror Hub I am keen to spend some time writing about some of the ideas and topics that don't quite make it to the podcast itself. And you never know, there might be some other topics thrown in as well.
The Girl Horror Podcast aims to shed light on how girlhood is represented in horror movies, from classic films to contemporary masterpieces. We believe that the experiences of young women and girls in horror offer a rich tapestry of narratives that reflect societal anxieties, cultural shifts, and the transformative journey of growing up. Each episodes is dedicated to unpacking these themes through in-depth analysis, engaging discussions, and relaying expert knowledge.

So who is behind the scenes of Girl Horror? Well, believe it or not there's only one of me. I'm Alice, the host and creator of The Girl Horror Podcast. As a lifelong horror fan and a passionate advocate for gender representation in media, I created this podcast to explore the fascinating and often underappreciated stories of girls in horror cinema. With a background in film studies and a deep love for storytelling, I bring a unique perspective to each episode, blending academic insight with a genuine enthusiasm for the genre and delight in the imagination.
